Home stretch

Half Done.

As in I did the half marathon today! Woohoo. The perfect finale to a phenomenal year of thinkin’ just a little outside the box. And believe you me—considering walking a 10k was a reach a few weeks ago. A humongous thank-you to all the friends who encouraged me and us along today, and all year long in our little half marathon year in Sun Valley.

Particular thanks to the Everitt Family.

It’s remarkable– that’s what keeps you going. Good friends, kind people, generous empathetic people showing up for you and encouraging you onward. Here it’s been stand out friends, teachers, kids’ friends, instructor friends, doctor friends going the proverbial extra mile for us. It truly takes a village and we are so lucky to have spent the last 10 months in such an incredible one. Thank you thank you thank you everyone.

Packing up the rental, landlord back in town (PLEASE landlord don’t open the front door, or bye bye security deposit. Will get used up getting your head shrunk back down after you see your beloved house turned upside down.) New house  (the “I don’t wanna project house”) is now a bunch of studs and particle board.. see that’s what we bought Ross—not just dirt!– and we are Chicago-bound to regroup, play baseball, spend some quality time with quality grandmothers dealing with their fair share…oh and to shorten Ross’es commute for the summer.

Happy Home Summer, or Happy Home Stretch if you’re not quite there.
